Veiled amidst the North Eastern Mountains, Nagaland is a state of mysticism and awe. The state presents nature in its fullest bloom. The Highlanders of Nagaland preserves man’s early animist culture, through its amazing ancient traditions. The prominent tribes of Nagaland are Angami Naga, Ao, Chang, Khiamniungan, Konyak, Rengma, Sangtam, Sumi & Yimchungru etc. Tribe and clan traditions and loyalties play an important part in the life of Nagas. The annual Hornbill Festival is celebrated at Kohima between 1st & 10th of December. The Hornbill Festival is aimed at reviving, protecting and sustaining richness of the Naga heritage & traditions through cultural extravaganza of dances, performances, crafts, parades, games, sports, food fairs and religious ceremonies.

Manipur, the Land of Jewels, lies in a lowland crisscrossed by the water-channels of the Loktak Lake in the North East corner of India. The diverse culture of the state is depicted in martial arts, dance & music and handloom & handicraft. The magnificent natural beauty of the state is a unique charm of the place.

Guests with adventurous mind should travel to Nagaland. 

SPECIAL NOTE FOR NAGALAND & MANIPUR

  1. The region is in very remote place, so all hotels in this region are basic to very very basic. 
  2. Road conditions are not good.
  3. Room heaters may not work due to voltage fluctuations. 
  4. In this region there are no relevance between the distance and time travelling as it depends upon the conditions of roads and congestion of traffic. 
  5. Mobile services may not be active in all destinations. Pre-paid roaming and International roaming connection does not work in this region. We suggest carrying BSNL (GSM) connections.
  6. Credit Cards / Traveller’s cheque are not freely accepted.

  1. Booking rates are subject to change without prior notice. 
  2. Meals will be served as per the hotel’s standard timing

  6. Hotel Category – The actual conditions of some hotels might be lower than the star category accorded to them by the Tourism department.
  7. Pricing of the booking is based on the age of the passengers. Please make sure you enter the correct age of passengers at the time of booking. Passengers furnishing incorrect age details may incur penalty at the time of check in at hotel
  8. Airline seats and hotel rooms are subject to availability at the time of booking. 
  9. In case of unavailability in the listed hotels, arrangement for an alternate accommodation will be made in a hotel of similar category
  10. A maximum of 3 adults are allowed in a room. The third occupant shall be provided a mattress/rollaway bed. 
  11. Safety caution for clients – Parents may take care of their own children
  12. The itinerary is fixed and cannot be modified. Transportation shall be provided as per the itinerary and will not be at disposal. 
  13. We have a reasonable expectation that local driver/guide will know about the places very well
  14. All transfers and sightseeing shall be provided by an exclusive vehicle unless otherwise specified. 
  15. A/C will be affected during high summer period and they will not get enough cooling inside the vehicle.
  16. A/C will not be operating in hilly areas as it may affect the vehicle performance.
  17. A/c Mini/Large Coach may not go through the narrow lanes and roads in hill stations
  18. Some vehicles may not enter hotel premises due to narrow road, market area, congested entrance etc.
  19. Vehicles may not enter parking points of all monuments, guests may have to walk their way into the monument.
  20. Some services may be affected by severe and unpredicted weather conditions
  21. Park your car in parking zones only and company will not be responsible for any damages.
  22. Due to operational reasons, the routing of this tour may be amended with/without prior notice. However, all mentioned services will remain unchanged. 
  23. Cost of deviation and cost of extension of the validity on your ticket is not included.

  25. Some hotels do not possess liquor licence. You are not permitted to consume liquor in public in those hotels. Kindly confirm the licence status with the hotel, if required.
  26. Valid Govt. issued personal Photo Id card/Aadhar Card will be required at the time of guest check in at hotels
  27. GREEN LAGOONS will not be responsible for the loss of your valuables during this trip. 
  28. The food and service conditions in hotels are beyond GREEN LAGOONS controls. 

Vehicle operation & usage guide:

  1. Vehicle Segment:  
  • Carriers in vehicles are not allowed in the region.  
  • No AC will be available in vehicles in Hill regions 
  • Sumo is provided in budget/ standard car segment (4 - 6 pax) 
  • Innova / Xylo / Scorpio / Bolero are similar category  
  • Swift D'zire / Etios/ Amaze are similar category in small car segment (2-3 pax)
  1. Vehicle will NOT be on disposal 
  • The vehicle used will be exclusive for that group but will not be at disposal. 
  • Vehicle will be available as per your itinerary. Kindly follow the time strictly 
  • Sightseeing points covered will depend on remaining time in hand 
  • Full day sightseeing will be till maximum 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm as per given itinerary. For additional usage, per km / per hour will be charged as per usage. 
  1. Hotels located in Hills - in busy areas / City Centers / No Entry / One Way zones  
  • Most of the hotels do not have parking place & vehicle cannot be parked in front of the gates for longer period hence gusts should wait at the reception 5 minute before

the departure to avoid the inconveniences. 

  • Due to shortage in space for parking, please be informed that you will have to be ready on time & wait in the lobby.  
  • Due to uncalculated situations (traffic jams / traffic halts/ diversions etc.) the vehicle reporting may get delayed. We will request you to bear with us and as soon as vehicle arrives you will have to get in, before the policeman blow his whistle.  
  • Due to vehicle-parking difficulty, most of the areas are restricted to entry of vehicle & specific time is allotted for entries. Kindly follow the time strictly as given to you. 
  • In No Parking Zones, the vehicle will get parked in an available parking area. In such a case, you will have to wait for the vehicle to come to your designated area. Please be patient as the driver will have to come through traffic. Please coordinate with the driver. 
  1. Transfers to next destination 
  • Night travel is not possible, so if you have a transfer to another destination in second half, please maintain time of your morning sightseeing  
  • If one destination is covered twice or additional destinations are included, additional charges will be applicable on per km / per hour basis. 
  • During Rainy season, heavy showers are possible and many times tarpaulin may not cover all the luggage because of the nature of heavy showers. In such case, luggage will have to be loaded inside the vehicle. The guests will have to adjust to such situations. 

 

  1. General Terms 
  • The tour guide reserves the rights to make changes or omit any place of visit, if it becomes necessary due to bad weather, bad road, strike or band, security reason etc. 
  • Kindly inform us if the guests are senior citizens or have health related issues (like arthritis, heart problems etc.) or any such matter which might need special arrangements. Some itineraries will not be suitable for them and we will suggest accordingly. 
  • The security concerns, driver's working hours etc. will be kept in mind while planning the tour and sightseeing.  
  • We try to ensure that the sightseeing points do not fall on a closing day. Incase due to inevitable situation if the sightseeing falls on a closing day, it will have to be left out. Conducting that particular tour or sightseeing point the next day will be subject to time availability.  
  • Weather in the region is unpredictable. We have kept your sightseeing related with nature flexible. 
  • The region's prime tourist interest in its Nature and eco-friendly atmosphere. The facilities available here cannot be matched with other developed destinations. 

Once the package is booked & confirmed no refund will be allowed. There will be no refund of any unutilized service in part or in full what so ever may be the reason.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If the booking cancels before 45 days than full refund will be back (Except GST + Communication charges of Rs 2,000/- Per Person will be applicable)
  • If the booking cancels within 45 days – 30 days than 25% amount will be deducted
  • If the booking cancels within 30 days – 15 days than 50% amount will be deducted
  • If the booking cancels within 15 days, then non-refundable

Itineraries

Day 1

Day 1 DIMAPUR – KOHIMA (75 kms, 4 - 5 hrs)

Welcome on arrival in Dimapur Airport, Nagaland’s only Airport with connections from Guwahati, Delhi and Kolkata. Proceed to Kohima (4-5 hours drive). Check in to Hotel. Evening visit the local bazaar where you can be introduced to the Naga food items consisting of vegetables, meat and fishes.
 Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2

Kohima

After breakfast, enjoy full day sightseeing covering the War Cemetery, the church and the Sale Emporium. Afternoon visit Jakhama village to experience the real Angami Naga tribal way of living as you take a village walk. Also, visit the Heritage Complex where the Hornbill festival is celebrated every year.

War Cemetery: The revered memorial commemorates the brave soldiers and warriors who laid their lives fighting the Japanese during the World War II. It is embellished by two tall crosses against the backdrop of seasonal roses & lush greenery.

Nagaland state Museum: it is housed in ancestral weaponry & provides an insight into the Naga culture, traditions & history. The exquisitely carved gateposts, status pillars, statues & traditional Naga costumes & jewelry are the main exhibits of the museum.

Kohima village: The village is said to be the biggest & most populous in entire Asia. According to Naga legend, the present day Kohima was founded here. At the entrance are exquisitely carved ceremonial gates, with the scimitar of horns of mithun (BosFrontalis), symbolizing bravery & valor.

The Catholic Cathedral at Aradura Hill in Kohima, is one of the biggest cathedrals in North-east India. Its splendid architecture makes it one of the important landmarks of Kohima. The unique design created by blending the traditional with the orthodox developed into an architectural marvel. A must-visit place in Kohima.

Day 3

Day Excursion To Touphema Or Khonoma

After breakfast drive to either Touphema or Khonoma village.

Option 1: Drive to Touphema village (45 km / 1.15 hrs). Take a walk in an Angami Naga tribal village, museum and also visit the Touphema Village Resort run by the local Angami tribe.

Option 2: Drive to the green village, Khonoma (20 km/ 1 hr). Take a village walk and visit the Morungs (the age group house), the ceremonial gates and meet the local craftsmen. Collectively Khonoma was known for its fighting prowess in the past and for the fallow management of its alder trees which balance the nature and its surrounding areas.

Later back to Kohima.

Day 4

Kohima – Imphal (160 Km / 6 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast, drive to Imphal, the capital of Manipur. Visit Shri Govindajee Temple and Kangla Fort. Evening free at leisure to visit the Khwairamband Bazaar (a local market run by mothers).

Day 5

Imphal

Morning after breakfast, drive to Moirang (45 km / 1 hr), the ancient capital of the Manipuri Kings. It is also the centre of Meitei culture. Cross by the local villages as you go to see the Sadu Chiru waterfall and the Japanese war memorial, which reflects the history of the Second World War. Also, visit the Keibul Lamjao National Park (the only floating park in the world). It is the last natural habitat of the marsh dwelling brow-antlered deer locally called ‘Sangai’. Nearby is the Loktak Lake and Sendra Island (a hillock Island with mesmerizing views of the Loktak lake). Loktak Lake is the largest fresh water lake in the North East. Watch the unique floating islands ‘Phumdi’ that are actually floating weeds on which people live! Return to Imphal.

Imphal Airport Departure

After breakfast, transfer to Imphal airport for onward journey.
