Aptly known as the symbol of love, it is an ideal spot for couples. It is said that every tourist must visit the Taj Mahal once in his life time. This monument is worth the hype that has ever been showered upon it, so it is not surprising that it found a place in the ‘seven wonders of the World’.
. But the Taj Mahal is not a standalone attraction. Agra is also known for another phenomenal example of great Mughal architecture, the Agra Fort, which is a massive red sandstone fort built by Emperor Akbar on the banks of the river Yamuna. The fort was built primarily as a military structure, but Shah Jahan transformed it into a palace, and later it became his gilded prison for eight years after his son Aurangzeb seized power.
The city of Agra will surprise you with its various hues and colours.
