Itineraries

Day 1

ARRIVE-COCHIN

Arrive at Cochin International GREEN LAGOONS Representative will meet you as you EXIT the ARRIVALS TERMINAL building after which you would be transferred to your hotel.
Half-day sightseeing tour of Cochin. You will first proceed to Mattancherry, where you will visit the oldest Jewish Synagogue in India (Closed on Friday and Saturday) built by a thriving Jewish community in 1568 A.D. Now the community has dwindled in numbers, however the synagogue is beautifully preserved.. The Dutch Palace (Closed on Friday) at Mattancherry was built in 1555 and its coronation hall and murals at Ramayana are noteworthy features. From Jewish Synagogue you will visit Chinese fishing nets. The cantilevered fishing nets line the entrance to the harbour mouth. Continue your tour to the St. Francis Church (Closed on Sunday during Mass), originally named after Santo Antonio and dedicated to him as the Patron Saint of Portugal. Five Portuguese priests who arrived with Albuquerque built St. Francis church in 1510. This church, said to be the oldest European church built in India, was the original burial site of Vasco da Gama in 1524. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 2

COCHIN – ATHIRAPPILLY

After the buffet breakfast checkout from the hotel and drive to Athirappilly
Athirappilly, located to the east of Chalakudy in Thrissur District, is a famous holiday destination in the state of Kerala. Situated on the fringes of Sholayar forests of the Western Ghats, which are the rain forests of Kerala, Athirappilly is famous mostly for its 42 meter high waterfalls.
Athirappilly, lying at an average elevation of 300 meters above sea level, consists of 14850 hectares of tropical wet, evergreen, semi-evergreen and moist deciduous riparian forest ranges. The Athirappilly Forest Ranges is also the natural habitat of species like the great hornbill, Malabar pied hornbill, Malabar grey hornbill, Indian grey hornbill, Asiatic elephant, tiger, leopard, bison, sambar and lion-tailed macaque. Day 3

ATHIRAPPILLY – MUNNAR (145k.m/04:45hours approx.)

Morning breakfast and drive to Munnar enroute visiting Cheeyaparra Falls. Arrive Munnar and check in at the hotel.Munnar is the nature-lover’s paradise. Snuggling in the green and serene Kannan Devan Hills lies the quiet and restful resort of Munnar. Panoramic views of low-flying clouds and mist filled valleys make it a pretty little heaven with a cool bracing climate. It was opened up out of virgin forests a century ago by pioneering planters.
Within its remote and elderly churches - gracious, stone-structures with ancient chandeliers and rosewood pews. A little beyond lies Anaimudi, South India's highest peak. In the vicinity is the Eravikulam National Park, the home of the endangered Nilgiri Thar that roams on a stretch of grassland or is seen climbing the pinnacles of the undulating hills. Here you can have a glimpse of a Gaur, Langur, Lion-tailed macaque, and Elephants roaming in herds. Rest of the day will be at leisure and Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 4

MUNNAR

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Later proceed for a morning sightseeing trip of Munnar; visiting the Eravikulam National Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Thar, visit Mattupetty Dam which offers many fascinating sights to relish. The Shola forests around Mattupetty are ideal for trekking and bird watching, with the variety of birds found there. Kundala is a picturesque town located at the confluence of three mountain streams namely Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Enroute visit Echo Point, View Point & green carpet of Tea Gardens. Late afternoon, you will go for a stroll in Tea Estates. Meet the local people engaged in tea Industry. Evening will be at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 5

MUNNAR – THEKKADY

After buffet breakfast at the hotel you would be driven from Munnar to Thekkady, which is also known as Periyar (110 KMS / 3.30 Hours). Upon arrival, proceed for check-in at your hotel. Afternoon, proceed to Periyar National Park to view the wildlife by boats. ( Optional )
Set in the heart of the Cardamom Hills of Kerala the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve, offers a rare opportunity to enjoy South India’s wild life and beauty. The park has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Herds of elephant and sambar, Gaur and wild pigs and wander down to the lakeside and can be observed from the launches that cruise the lake. Periyar also harbours the leopard, wild dog, barking deer and mouse deer. On the rocky outcrops along the lake, monitor lizards can be seen basking in the sun.

Day 6

THEKKADY- ALLEPPEY

After the breakfast drive to Alleppy ( 140 KM / 04 Hour ), On Arrival check in to the House Boat.
Alleppey (Alappuzha) district occupies a prominent place in the tourist map of Kerala interlocked with lakes and canals. The Vembanad Lake stretching up to Kochi, the rivers Achankovil, Manimala and Pamba and a network of canals in the district are used for inland navigation. On arrival, check into houseboat and spend the day at leisure. Houseboat cruise is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Enjoy lunch, evening tea/coffee with snacks and dinner on it. Stay overnight in houseboat. Over Night stay at House Boat.

Day 7

ALLEPPEY– MUNROE (02:30 hours 90 km Approx.)

After the breakfast checkout from the houseboat and start the journey to Munroe. Located 27 km from Kollam, is Munroe Island. Formed by the backwaters of Ashtamudi Lake and Kallada River, this island is named after Colonel Munroe, the British Resident of erstwhile Travancore State. He is credited with having integrated several backwater regions by digging canals. The discovery of Stone Age tools and megaliths stand testimony to the antiquity of this islet which shelters a quaint little village.

Day 8

MUNROE

Full day at Munroe and enjoying the village tour, canoeing, fishing etc., Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 9

MUNROE – KOVALAM

After Breakfast Check out from the hotel and drive to Kovalam (Approx 92kms/02:30hrs)-A beach on the Arabian Sea in Kerala, majorly famous for its golden beaches & Palm fringed shores. Evening at leisure or local sightseeing by own. Indulge into some Ayurveda treatments in rested. Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 10

TRUVANDRUM

This morning after breakfast proceed for city tour of Trivandrum which is 15 kms away. The main attractions are the Govt. Art Museum, Sri Chitra Art Gallery, The Zoological Garden, Padmanabhaswamy Temple (entry restricted),KuthiramalikaPalace, Kanakakkunnu Palace, Napier Museum and Veli Tourist village. Evening free for individual activities.
Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 11

DEPARTURE

After the breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to the airport /railway station for the return
Journey.
